Jaipur, commonly known as the Pink City, is the quintessential North India experience. A colourful barrage of fabric, architecture, and spices, Jaipur is home to spectacular Rajput palaces, ornate museums, and world renowned block print fabric. You’ll wander through old bazaars, ride an elephant to a medieval fort, and shop for crafts from skilled Rajasthani artisans.
After breakfast, start your day with a tour of the Hawah Mahal (Palace of Winds) and some time at the local market. From there, we’ll drive a short distance outside of Jaipur to the Amber palace, an impressive medieval fortress towering above the village of Ajmer. You can choose to walk, or ride an elephant, to the fort’s entrance. Both options offer beautiful views of the surrounding scenery. After the tour, we’ll head back to Jaipur to visit the City Palace Museum and the JantarMantar, a royal medieval observatory. Time permitting, finish your souvenir shopping in Jaipur’s old city bazaars.
